He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the Mary Washington Hospital Auxiliary and American Legion Post 320. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Kena Temple in Fairfax.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris R. Rasmus, Patrick R. Rasmus of Springfield; brother William R. Rasmus and Erik J. Steinbacher of Alexandria, Gloria J. Bowling; four daughters, Debi K. Barnard, Ryan C. Bowling of Spotsylvania; sister Eleanor E. Pace, Jason B. Hartsook of Clintonville, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Rebecca M. Earp, Stephanie N. Huttner of Woodbridge, Peggy J. Kendall of Bowie, Md., and Susan L. Rasmus; and six great-grandchildren, Alexander Pace, Christopher Barnard Jr., Gabriella Barnard, Addison Pace, Juliana Barnard and Carter Pace.

Hoover S. Bowling Hoover S. Bowling, 83, of Spotsylvania County passed away at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011.
