Otumfuo, JAK, Nana Addo support Atanofo Education Fund

Mr. Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani, former Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs, who represented former President John Agyekum Kufuor, donated GH¢1,000, while Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman North, donated GH¢1,000 on behalf of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the Bechem Traditional Council.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu  II, the Asantehene,  last weekend donated GH¢20,000 towards the establishment of the Atanofo Education Endowment Fund, initiated by the Bechem Traditional Council to assist brilliant, but needy, school children in the area.

He made the donation at a durbar of the chiefs and people of the Bechem Traditional Area in the Tano South District of the Brong-Ahafo Region to climax a week-long maiden 'Adekyem' Festival.

Other donations came from former President Mr. John Kufuor and the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

“It’s not the practice of the Agogo Traditional Council to enter into secret pacts”, he told the Daily Graphic in an exclusive interview Wednesday.

The Paramount Chief of the Agogo Traditional Area, Nana Akuoko Sarpong, Wednesday broke his long silence on the furore over Fulani herdsmen in the Agogo area, denying allegations that he signed a secret pact with the herdsmen.

He also refuted claims that he derived personal benefits from the occupation of the herdsmen on Agogo Stool lands.

“So there was no secrecy about this. It was an open house arrangement and discussion.

He conceded that there was an agreement between the Agogo Traditional Council and the Fulani herdsmen, but said that the agreement was signed at an open ceremony in 2006, adding that the proceeds accruing from the tenancy of the four-year deal were collected by the Administrator of Stool Lands.

NPP Youth call off Koku Anyidoho's bluff

The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party wishes to make it emphatically clear that it is not moved by the empty threats on the person of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and other leading members of the Party, from no other person than the Communications Director at the Presidency, Mr. Koku Anyidoho.

The threat by Koku Anyidoho, the Director of Communications at the Castle, Osu, that he would deal ruthlessly  with the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo if he dares to implement his 'all die be die' mantra, has been met with equal force by the youth wing of the party .

Mr. Anyidoho reportedly made the statement on a London based radio station recently, but in a statement issued by the youth wing of  NPP, they made it clear that President Mills'  right hand man's comment has not shaken the  foundation of the party in anyway. Below id the full press statement.
